Day 7: Homeward Bound (third time’s a charm)

So ends another adventure… I am at the airport in Gulfport kinda ready to come home (but I could have been talked into staying some more.)

Today, I got off to a lazy start and decided to bird the beaches along Route 90 (from Biloxi west to Waveland, MS.) it was so neat to see all the birds that appear on our beaches in warmer weather, such as dunlin, Willet, Ruddy turnstone, sanderling, skimmer and semipalmated plover.

Ruddy Turnstone in the parking lot

Willet (or won't it?)

The drive along 90 is really pretty until you cross the bridge into Bay St Louis where it starts to look a little commercial.

Overall, the trip was a success! I checked off 15 new life birds, saw 2 new states, made new friends, and proved to myself I am strong enough to vacation in a strange place (without planning every little detail ahead of time) for a week. This week was truly filled with blessings. đŸ˜€
