Black-Bellied Whistling Duck @ Cape May

Lifebird #291 is an exciting and beautiful visitor – the Black-Bellied Whistling Duck. Typically a resident of the Gulf and points south, this distinct-looking duck, aptly named for its markings and whistling call occasionally pops up in points north.

My lifebird dry spell was broken when I earned #291 at Cape May’s Lily Pond this July 4th, just hanging around with some Mallards!
