Winter Finch invasion of 2012-2013

The big news this winter is the “winter finch invasion” of 2012/2013.

Back in July, we reported seeing a Red-Breasted Nuthatch (an “honorary” winter finch. Some predicted better things were to come… and they have! “R-B Nuts” seem to outnumber their White-breasted buddies lately.

Their finchy counterparts have surely begun joining the party in these parts (so be on the lookout:)

NEXT! (I hope) Queue the Boreal Chickadees, Boreal and Great Gray Owls and Bohemian Waxwings! 🙂

Good winter birding, all!
