Her passion for bird-watching  developed at a young age when her father, a former pigeon breeder and racer would sit at the window of their fourth floor apartment and call out different birds as they sat in the tree outside their window. A former member of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary (2001-2005), stationed at Boston Light, her docent program focus was to highlight the ecosystems of the Boston Harbor Islands, with an emphasis on the many birds that visit the islands.

She has lived in New York, Massachusetts and her current home state of New Jersey, where she resides with her pet Betta, Audubon. Today, she can be found helping to protect the Piping Plover (PIPL) and Least Terns (LETE) of Seven Presidents Oceanfront Park in Long Branch, NJ or birding her favorite spots at Cape May, Sandy Hook, The Great Swamp and the vast parks of Monmouth County. Lisa’s goal is to one day be a strong enough birder to participate in the competitive portion of the World Series of Birding.
